"Be still like a mountain, and flow like a great river." Lao Tzu.♥
There is something greater and purer than what the mouth utters.
Silence illuminates our souls, whispers to our hearts, and brings them together. Silence separates us from ourselves, makes us sail the firmament of spirit, and brings us closer to heaven.— Kahlil Gibran♥
“I love you when you bow in your mosque, kneel in your temple, pray in your church. For you and I are sons of one religion, and it is the spirit.
Guru: the eradication of the darkness of ignorance so that the light of knowledge can seep in.
While we may all seek to find a Guru, or teacher to help us along the path of illumination, to show us the way or point us in the right direction, ultimately the truth is that the Guru lies within each and every one of us. For only from within can we remove the veils of illusion that bind us to the artificial light of this earthly plane. Only we can light the lamp of knowledge, if we so desire it, so that we can see the truth and in doing so wake up from this deep maya or slumber.
Many times, as we journey along this path to enlightenment, we learn how to tap into our inner-selves, through the awareness of other fellow travelers. By sharing, not only our triumphs, but more importantly our failures, we grow and rise higher and higher towards that one goal…to return to that place of Universal Love. Guru is this place of sharing and exchanging of ideas, thoughts, feelings, triumphs and non-achievements.
It is a place where the questions can sometimes be more thought provoking than the answers—where we come together as a spiritual family to teach each other, to learn from one another, to help each other on this sometimes difficult path. Even though the path may be thorny, it is made less prickly by the rose petals laid down by our spiritual brothers and sisters as we unite.
Dr. Elisabeth Kȕbler-Ross on Death
"Death is simply a shedding of the physical body like the butterfly shedding its cocoon. It is a transition to a higher state of consciousness where you continue to perceive, understand, laugh and grow. When we have passed the tests we are sent to earth to learn, we are allowed to graduate. We are allowed to shed our body, which imprisons our souls. We run after values that, at death, become zero. At the end of your life, nobody asks you how many degrees you have, or how many mansions you built, or how many Rolls Royces you could afford. That’s what dying patients teach you. After your death, when most of you for the first time realize what life here is all about, you begin to see that your life here is almost nothing but the sum total of every choice you have made during every moment of your life. Your thoughts, which you are responsible for, are as real as your deeds. You will begin to realize that every word and every deed affects your life and has also touched thousands of lives. I believe that we are solely responsible for our choices, and we have to accept the consequences of every deed, word, and thought throughout our lifetime. There is within each one of us a potential for goodness beyond our imagining; for giving which seeks no reward; for listening without judgment; for loving unconditionally.”
