WHAT IS A "JOURNEY?" A JOURNEY is NOT a trip..It's NOT a "vacation"..It's a process ..It's life itself..Of self discovery, untangling the web, releasing and sometimes letting go..It's NOT painless, nor painful..Its a journey..It brings us face to face with OURSELVES..A journey shows us not only the WORLD we live in,and its people, but how we fit into each others lives.. The "JOURNEY" IS LIFE ITSELF....enjoy it while we have it..Somewhere in your life you allowed yourself to be taken for granted or used and in doing so set yourself up for disappointment. People treat us the way we allow them to treat us. It would follow then that if you want to be treated better, first honor and respect yourself , treat yourself with the respect that you deserve. When we honor ourselves we draw to us relationships that mirror those qualities of respect. We are able to find and enter into healthier relationships based on mutual understanding, respect, and trust.Although you may not believe it the condition you feel trapped in is temporary. Remember that pain teaches compassion , and makes us stronger. It also shows us how to appreciate all we do have. Stop looking at everyone else and comparing what they have to what you have etc.. release all that is painful and choose to look to your blessings and have faith. In life we will all grieve and suffer loss, it is a part of being human. Don't allow it to rob you of joy, accept it as a passing phase, just as the moon has its passing phases.

Life is about today, enjoy it! Touch a baby, laugh with a friend, cry over a sad movie, help the poor or downtrodden, smell a flower, fly a kite, kiss your child or your parent and tell them how much you love them today, soak in a nice warm comforting bath, visit a friend who may be lonely, or a million other things that can bring us joy in this day. Most of all, love, everything and everyone in life. Find joy. Know Peace.

Two people are going to attend an interview in Guntur from Vijayawada. The first person asked about the details about the train, purchased ticket, enquired about the platform and entered the compartment. He searched for the seat and since the seat was not available he traveled in standing position. The total time he spent for this one-hour journey was about ten minutes. Though he was not comfortable in standing, he spent all the fifty minutes in thinking about the subject of the interview. He never associated with the co-passengers because he has to leave the co-passengers in the Guntur station. He spent some money already in Vijayawada by selecting a teacher who can teach the subject of the interview. He served that teacher and the teacher was very much pleased and gave the details of the subject in depth. He spent a little on his personal livelihood.
The second fellow spent all the time in enquiring about the details of this one-hour journey and was always worried about the comforts during this one-hour journey. He also paid a little money to the teacher who knows the subject and requested him to go to the railway station and get a comfortable seat in the train for him. He spent more money on his personal enjoyment. Even during the journey he was thinking about the comfort of the seat only. He was waiting constantly for the upper berth and enquiring the person of that berth about the station in which he will get down, so that he can occupy that seat. Even though he is reaching Guntur by ten minutes he was not thinking about the interview. He was talking with his co-passengers and was developing friendship with them as if he is going to stay with them permanently.
Both the people got down in the same Guntur railway station. Both attended the same interview in Guntur. The first person was selected and spent all his life with full happiness. The second person was not selected and spent all his rest of life with full misery.
Similarly one person thinks very little about these materialistic aspects of the life and also talks very very little. He spends least time in discussing these things in a very brief manner. He spends most of his time about the Lord who is going to enquire him after death in the Pretaloka for ten days. He always thinks about the punishments in the hell and his future life cycles. He approaches a competent preacher who is non-else than the Lord Himself who came to this earth in Human form. He catches the Satguru and receives the divine knowledge from him. He becomes his servant by doing Karma Phala Tyaga (Sacrifice of fruit of the work i.e., money) and Karma Sanyasa (sacrifice of work). In such service he did not attend much to himself and his family. Due to that he lost all the personal comforts and also lost the comforts of the family.
He knows that these family bonds are only temporary which are like the association with co-passengers within one-hour journey. As every passenger gets down when the destiny is reached and separate from each other, one has to leave all these family members for ever and will not even remember them in the future births. Such a person completed this temporary human life cycle. He was very healthy and was blessed with good longevity by the Lord. He was poor and did not eat much and many items. Therefore no disease attacked him and so he was healthy. Due to his service to the Lord he was blessed with a long life which is meant for the service of the Lord. After death he went straightly to Brahma Loka without any enquiry. He was always associated with the Lord here as well as there and was filled with bliss always. This person represents the people of our ancient generations.
The second person represents the people of modern generations. He is always worried about this present life which is just one-hour journey. He always discusses with people about the comforts of this present life. He associates himself with the bonds of the family so deeply as if the bonds are permanent. He does not know that after death no body even recognizes none. He spends all the time only for the comforts of himself and for the comforts of his family. Even if he reaches the Satguru he will do a little Karma Phala Tyaga and Karma Sanyasa praying him to give more and more comforts in this human life. He is not at all interested about his fate after the death. He never thinks about the enquiry, the hell and his future life cycles. Even though he has reached the old age and is going to die shortly, he never thinks about the upper world and about his future fate. He is always worried about the life here only. He spends lot of time in discussing all the minute details of even a negligible point pertaining to this materialistic life. He does not spend even one minute for the burning problem to be faced after his death. He is enquired in the Pretaloka for ten days after death, he is punished in the hell and goes to the life cycles of beasts and worms etc., which is ever-lasting fire of hell.
I find several people who are always doing continuous conversations about very minute and negligible matters of the material life. They discuss about the purchase of the teacup or a spoon for hours together. They do not spend even one minute about the most serious matter, which is the scene after this life. This continuous thinking and continuous conversations and continuous association with the family members make him forget about the most important matter. The ignorance enters him and one becomes an embodiment of ignorance. The mango piece in the pickle-jar is fully pervaded by the salt, the oil and the chilly powder because it is constantly in association with these items in the jar. Therefore, Oh! Human beings! Awake from this sleep of ignorance. Think about your future fate after death. Think about the permanent settlement with bliss in the future, recognize the Human form of the Lord in your generation. Approach the Lord and receive the divine knowledge from Him. Spend very little time and little energy for the matters of this life. Realize that your life is only an hour journey. Note that all the comforts of this life are only in one-hour journey. Even if you have reached the interview board by travelling in first class compartment, that has nothing to do with your selection in the interview. You may not be selected even if you have traveled in the first class. A person who traveled in a third class compartment with less comforts may be selected in the interview. The selection in the interview is going to give you the permanent comfort. Therefore approach the Satguru to study the subject well for the interview. Don’t ask the Satguru to help you in getting more comforts during the one-hour journey. Always ask Him to preach you so that you can be selected in the interview. Only one will be selected out of several candidates who attend the interview. Therefore do not follow the majority. Gita says that only one in crores is blessed by the Lord (Manushyaanaam Sahasreshu).

Initially the Lord attracts the devotee through miracles and creates belief and devotion in the mind of a human being. Thus the human being is converted into devotee. Thus from the stage of human being the soul carries on the journey to the stage of a devotee. This journey is taking place due to the effort of the Lord only. This is called as the “Marjala Kisora Nyaya”, which means the mother cat carrying on its off spring by catching it with her mouth. The effort of the human being is nil in this case. But the human being must have open mind to receive the help from the Lord and to recognize the existence of the super natural power of the Lord and thereby to recognize the existence of the Lord. For such situation the problems and troubles in the life which are due to Karma Chakra (The wheel of deeds) are also helping the soul. Thus the troubles are the real helpers towards the spiritual line. The misery due to the troubles is praised by the Lord in Gita (Aartho….. Udaaraah).
Kunti asked for constant troubles from the Lord. In this stage though the effort of the soul is nil, the soul must have flexibility and open mind to recognize the helper, the Lord. The impartial Lord gives this opportunity equally to all the human beings but the atheist due to absence of open mind and due to foolish rigidity does not accept the existence of the Lord even after such help. Thus though we say that the effort of the individual is nil in this case, to have open mind to realize the truth is also considered as the effort of the human being. When the effort of the human being exists, it is called as “Markata Kisora Nyaya”, which means the off spring is holding on itself by catching the womb of its mother-monkey. Thus both these lines always co-exist and are mutual to each other.
In the sacred book “Yoga Vasista”, the preacher Vasista preaches spiritual knowledge to Rama. In the very beginning itself Vasista emphasizes on the effort of the individual soul (Purusha Prayatna). Without the effort of the soul if the Lord has to carry on the devotee by His grip only, then the Lord has to carry on all the souls of the creation. Then only the Lord can become impartial. If that is done there is no meaning of the creation because the thrill of love disappears. The love of one in millions cannot be tasted by the Lord. If all the students in the class get cent percent and if all are given gold medals, then there is no thrill. But the teacher puts his effort equally on all the students and every student has equal opportunity to get the gold medal. When one gets the gold medal we cannot blame the teacher to be partial. The teacher wishes and puts equal effort on all the students and aspires every student to get the gold medal. But the fact is that only one gets the gold medal.
The aspiration of the teacher and his practical effort without any partiality is completely different and the actual fact that takes place is all together totally different. You cannot link these two contradicting extreme facts. It is true that the teacher wishes that every student should stand first and he puts equal effort on every student without any trace of partiality. At the same time it is also equally true that only one student stands first. From the point of the teacher we have to appreciate the way of mother cat. From the point of the student you have to appreciate the way of mother monkey. The teacher tries to carry on every student to the goal like the mother cat. But only one student reaches the goal because of his strongest grip. Thus both the lines are equally important from their own angles. The teacher is always like the mother cat. The off spring should be always like the baby monkey.
Permalink Reply by Yogesh Lajmi on May 2, 2012 at 11:02am The TRUE LORD does not require the help of "miracles" etc., to use as a prop on which to "sell himself"...if that is what you really mean...that He needs miracles to sell himself...! !
It is this desire of the ignorant Human to hold in "awe" even ordinary tricksters and magicians and good practitioners of the art of "sleight-of-hand"...and even rise some of them to the lrevel of God...a classic example of a "very revealing video recording of a live 'performance' by the late Satya Sai Baba", is in circulation(I first saw it 5 years ago on my visit to Australia)and shown on TV in India too....Similarly the Fraud Of Lourdes had been exposed several times on TV...and "Frauds" at several places of pilgrimage for ostensibly getting cured from "incurable diseases",have been exposed ALL over the world...
In short, most miracles supposed to have been wrought mysteriously,by GOD himself, now stand thoroughly exposed as FRAUDS...!
There's thus very little to crow about...
The gullibility of even the so-called "highly educated" is truly apalling...and perhaps it is people like you who spread these "exaggerated stories" of "miracles" to spread your beliefs or use them as a tool for proselytisation...just as the Christian Missionnaries of the old used to resort to,in Tribal Areas, the North East areas of India etc...these facts are well publicised...
A religion if it truly can lay claim to be Great, does it need the help of clever, and not-so-clever methods of proselytisation at all ? IF it is as Great as claimed, sooner or later all thinking people will naturlly gyrate towards it... therefore,to my mind, the very idea od proselytisation raises serious questions, more so proselytisation by force or through distribution of favours or through the opening of "Mission Hospitals" especially in remote tribal areas, about the religion that is being spread...through resorting to such means, like offering free or subsidised Medical Treatment..a very good Public Service but with the attached "hook" of conversion... ! ! !
The real Tragedy,to my mind is,that ALL this is done "In the Name of God" ! ! ! !
Would you care to respond ?

Yogesh Lajmi :
The beauty of a prostitute glitters by applied color, clothes and jewels etc., (makeup). Such artificial beauty is miracles, stress relief methods, boons to solve worldly problems etc. The real beauty can be seen when the makeup is absent and the real beauty is guiding you in the right path through spiritual knowledge to save you from the hell. Veda says that the right spiritual knowledge alone is the real beauty and the real identity mark of Satguru (Prajnanam Brahma, Satyam Jnanam….). Scholarly devotees identified Krishna through Gita, Jesus through Bible, Mohammad through Q’ran, Buddha through preachings etc. The ignorant emotional devotee selects a pseudo Satguru and falls in the pit of eternal hell.
After selection of Satguru, you should become ignorant emotional devotee. While selecting your wife, you should be analytical using intelligence. After the right selection, you should be ignorant emotional lover without any analysis. You should not reverse this. One selects the wife through ignorant emotion and then starts analyzing her! But the doubt is about the procedure to be adopted after realizing a wrong wife (or husband). If it is the case of selection of Satguru, reject him immediately and select the Satguru again. This is not sin. People misunderstand that a selected Guru should never be left at any cost. This is wrong because, the selected Guru in the school is leftover and a new better Guru is selected in the college.
“You should not leave Guru” applies only to Satguru. Suppose you have the Professor as Guru, you need not leave him in the school, college and university. If you go back to the simile, what should be done in the case of a wife or husband wrongly selected by emotion? You should stick to her or him by adjusting yourself. But this is valid only in worldly affairs (Pravrutti). If she or he opposes you in spiritual path and does not change in spite of your repeated efforts, you should leave her or him. Ramanuja left his wife for the sake of Nivrutti. Similarly, Meera left her husband on the advice of Tulasidas for Nivrutti. Of course, even in Pravrutti, if she or he is creating a constant hell here itself, you can leave him or her in the extreme case and this is justified because such a hell here is disturbing you from Nivrutti indirectly.
