I.42. TATRA SHABDAARTHA-JNAANA-VIKALPAIH SAMKEERNAA SAVITARKAA.
'"Savitarka samadhi" is that state in which the mind alternates
between knowledge based knowledge based on words, true knowledge,and
knowledge based on sense perception or reasoning'.

Commentary:
'Savitarka Samadhi' is known as 'samadhi' with reasoning. This is the
lowest level of 'samadhi' in which there is perfected concentration,
but the meditator is focusing on natural elements and using his
intellectual faculties. The purity of the various levels of knowledge
is yet to be clarified.
