Comment by Johan on July 7, 2012 at 7:37am I've been dropping by here for well over a year. I'm not sure that your sharing has been motivated entirely by caring. Actually I see this site as slightly skewed. Others, I am sure would like to describe me similarly. My bias however is more closely aligned with identifying seminal points then illustrating them to a degree or two.
Personally, I might suggest that this site is motivated to protection rather than ultimate discovery. Mr. Bhasin might be suggesting a similar phenomenon when he says, that the vast majority of members here hardly show much real heart to heart spiritual sharing.
I would suggest that in this fine assemblage of souls that few share reveal their inner ideas and suggestions regarding the consumption and expressions of new and relevant ideals.
Relevant ideals and ideas are what keep "things" moving as they do.
Without them, what would you have?
Sites here in NA are generally devoted to sayings regarding the relevance of advancements and their relevance.
I suspect this site has a tolerance to places and things or mythical descriptions or events that transcend similar discoveries.
Spiritual inputs are seldom if ever relegated to a well. More likely, they can be found in the songs and verses that members contribute.
To challenge or confront, seems to be a less acceptable way by which others can easily identify their the bias or favour associated with the machine . . . .
What could we do differently to make this site more heart-to felt or heart-felt . . . ?
Can we do something?
Of course. What is the REAL purpose of this site?
Currently, I would say it is dedicated to the promotion of ideas and responses that originated in South Asia - during the past 1000 years or so.
BTW, this site is great fun. . . but it still lacks several junctures.
Anyway, as long as members are having fun, all is good. Right?

Spiritual Guru is a great website which gives us opportunity to openly share and care for each other.
However, my feeling is that though we have Thousands of Members, there is hardly any real heart to heart spiritual sharing.
It appears that we are putting our spiritual inputs deep down say in a well.
Can we do some thing?
May God Bless all of us !!

Bowing to all Divinity,
GURU, the name itself says Spiritual and having a site in net means the people involve are must be knowledgeable. If say we the members are, than there are no BAD or GOOD comments. In spirituality the terms for the Bad and Good are Unconscious/Subconscious and conscious mind. We should be open to every one and should have the acceptance qualities.
Spirit is Knowledge as well as Science so we can't deny the Modern Knowledge and the Science coming up parallel to our Spiritualism. Any one’s faith in certain specific statement has power consciously to oppose, neutralize, erase and obliterate the opposite mental attitude because of the fact that this study is a Science and definitely be used like we find a pearl from deep sea. The mystery, with which most people surround, is the search for Truth. We all in Kali Yuga and we mean by the Spiritual World. It is the conscious intelligence of HER Intelligence (ONE). What is code of conduct and law of Samaskara. Spiritual Scriptures don’t say these entire thing which we have taken as misunderstood.
With qualities of Tri Gunas of Craetion we only present our views without breaking the Honorable Court Laws. Because of these non acceptances of each others views (controversies), Sadgurus are always out of our reach and we are always unsuccessful to reach our Goal. Spirituality doesn’t mean to Religions. It only means the Spirit the ONE PARAMATMA.

The vital Question to ponder is Whether there is any scope for good or better conduct by the Members of this site.
The main focus should be to ensure that all Members are able to participate in a Discussion in a healthy manner.
The spiritual pursuit or attainment rests a lot of good and moral character/conduct.
If there was a self-control or regulation by Members, there was hardly any need for Code of Conduct.
Let us think why some Members have been expelled or why some Members have lost their interest to participate on this site?
May God Bless !!
Comment by Alexander on May 14, 2012 at 11:23am Is it wise to judge others views based on a flawed religious ideology. Truth is Truth, however bad we may perceive it.
I have some strong beliefs...
Religion is man made.
The oldest Sanskrit writings, translated, are nothing more than children's fantasy stories.
Is this belief like a bad one because it contains truth?
Only God has the authority to judge, but even God will not do it, why should we?
Comment by Indu Popuri on May 14, 2012 at 9:37am NAMASTE
Suggestion 1 to 4 is the basic code of conduct which every member should adhere...regarding suggestion no 5 and 6, i think the member who has been posting lengthy answers and posting too many discussions a day has already been expelled.

Comment by Johan on May 14, 2012 at 12:10am No "bad" comments allowed? Who determines "bad"? When I tell my Christian Friends that the New Testament contains forgeries and is not the inerrant word of God, they accuse me of making a "bad" comment. When I suggest that modern day "Hinduism" has degenerated from its original essence and understanding, again I am accused of making a "bad" comment.
This site recently regulated itself by expelling 2 members for "bad" conduct. To my knowledge there was no discussion of the decision to protect members by expelling these people and, as such, the community, as a whole, can learn nothing from the experience.
Who benefits from protecting people from "bad" comments through predetermined definitions and rules? The status quo benefits.
I exist in a culture that is extremely tolerant of "bad" ideas and behavior. There are of course many negative aspects to this, however, this same culture also produces the innovation required for a society or culture to adapt and LEARN.
If GURU and it's members wish to protect and maintain what they have, then censorship, in one form or another, is a great way to go. If members are interested in advancing the status quo, this requires increased tolerance to alternative forms of thinking.
The provocative exchange of ideas between people that hold a wide range of beliefs is natural. Without conflict (of one kind or another) there can be no change. Can an individual prevent change simply by claiming to be hurt by the comment of another person or by becoming a self-proclaimed victim?
How Open and Tolerant does this site wish to be. . . and how will GURU identify bad comments from good ones?
Namaste,
Om Namah Sivaya
In regards to the suggestions as per me for betterment of site atmosphere. I think it is a good idea but must be done correctly with lots of thought. One thing I noticed is that number 3 would be difficult to enforce;
3] No one should try to impose their thoughts and belief on others.
Like it or not this has been the bassis of the site from the begining, most posts reflect someones opinion and that is somewhat influencing in the minds of the readers. so I would say that right now it would be a radical change and maybe even hard to enforce. On a site like this people tend to post what their thoughts and beliefs are to express how they feel.
I hope we resolve this issue and create something workable for all members

Comment by Alexander on May 13, 2012 at 3:11pm Some things the Great Master has to teach us can make us feel hurt.
We can do harm to ourselves by insulating ourselves from others comments, good or bad words
that one religion find hurtful are useful in our search for spiritual truth.
Personally I welcome bad comments as they may highlight ignorance in the giver.
giving us way to see what should be avoided
This is how we learn.

Amit ji
I have always been for the Code of Conduct to be framed for the Members of this spiritual site.
We have a responsibility to ensure that the good work done by you and others to enrich this site to be lively is not allowed to be lost at any cost.
A farmer does protect his field from stray animals.
Why not we protect and make it sure to make this site spiritually enriched to the extent possible?
May God Bless !!

Let us understand the spirit in which this Feedback is being given or shared.
I just said all Editors of various journals have some right to ensure Quality and Quantity of the Message as per their policy and law of the land.
What I wanted to emphasize was that there is a need for some Code of Conduct or Regulation which I consider is not undemocratic. Even Supreme Court and High Court Judges are subject to Impeachment Law.
That is my suggestion and request only; not an imposition, please.
May God Bless !!

Comment by Indu Popuri on April 22, 2012 at 10:35am Namaste Mr.Yogesh Lajmi
Pl let me know from which source you read the story of Rishi Yagnavalkya or the whole story is your own interpretation of it..
I am literally shocked by the words you used in narrating the story..PROUD AND VAIN YAGNAVALKYS CHALLENDGE HER FOR DEBATE : The fact is Brihardaranyaka Upanishad speaks of a women philosopher who carried on learned discussions with Rishi Yagnavalkya in which she questions the Rishi about the nature of Brahman. It is not the rishi who challenged her, but it is Gargi who challenged him for the debate. At the end, Gargi accepts her defeat and declares :O Venerable Brahmins, highly respect my word and acquaint yourself towards Yajnavalkya by bowing before him. None among you can defeat him in any argument concerning Brahman."
You mentioned that as per the terms of the debate the loder had to become the disciple of the winner and eventually gargi married the rishi...
Nowhere it is mentioned that the defeated person should become a disciple...Gargi never married the Rishi
"Since that day he became powerful and drunk with power"...there is no need for him to become powerful after the debate with Gargi as Yagnavalkya was a Brahma Jnani and he is known for his unsurpassed spiritual wisdom and power. It is he who revealed the Brahma Jnana to King Janaka.
It is true that Yagnavalkya stopped the Upanayana samskara for women, but it was not a deliberate attempt to debar women from that samskara but as the girls could not devote a long time for vedic studies due to their early marriage. The intention was not to humiliate women but to save them them from the dire consequences becoz not even minor mistake should be done in the recitation of vedas.
Rishi Yagnavalkya was one of the greatest sages ever known. He had two wives one is Maiteryi, a Brahmavadini and the other is Katyayini..in fact the rishi imparted the knowledge of Atman to his wife maiteyi..
