In the VEDAS there is the mention of the TRIMURTI (BRAHAMA,VISNU,MAHESH) who accordingly have the following tasks

BRAHMA - CREATOR

VISHNU - PRESERVER

MAHESH - DESTROYER

So if Lord Mahesh(Shiva) has the task of destruction then why is he the most worshiped deity in the kaliyuga?
