RAM RAM SABHI KAHEN; RAM NA KOEI JAANA (WHO KNOWS LORD RAMA)?

Kabir Sahib says :

"Maathey Tilak Haath Jap Mala;

Logo Ne Ram Khilona Jaana"

People reckon that if they have Tilak (sign) on their forehead, have a Japmala in their hand to show they are spiritual. Is Lord Rama a toy to be played with by showing all this and terming that one is spiritual?

Tulsi Dass wrote :

"Ram Charit Manas"

Emphasized upon the character a man must have to be spiritually blessed by Lord Rama.

Guruvani says :

"Ram Ram Sabhi Kahen;

Ram Na Koei Jaana"

Emphasized that chanting alone will not help unless we adopt the qualities of Lord Rama in our Life.

When ever people meet they say "Ram Ram".

For chanting and self-realization also, many of us chant Ram Ram.

Hare Krishna Movement also gives a lot of emphasis upon the Mahamantra i.e. "Hare Ram, Hare Ram, Ram Ram Hare Hare...".

The question is who is Lord Ram that we are chanting and why?

Do we know Him?

Do we follow Him?

Is our character (Charitra) in tune with the teachings and preachings of His life?

Do we know and follow Lord Rama through "Raghukul Reet Sada Chali Aayi; Praan Jaaye Par Vachan Na Jaaye". That is one who breaks his own word or promise, can he be termed spiritual. Such a person falls in the category of characterless and a culprit since he did not honor his own word or promise he himself made. He is no trustworthy in the eyes of other people around him.

What is that we know or Lord Rama and appreciate from our Heart and obey or follow Him as Lord or God?

That needs to be clear before a person can be a devotee/bhakt of Lord Rama.
